Week 2 and still going strong!
So things here are still pretty bloody fantastic. I went to Grenoble again because my host sister goes to boarding school there. Its a pretty big city. I went downtown and saw the sights there, such as the train station and a huge department store. Yesterday, sunday, We hiked to the Croix de Nivole (thats probably spelled wrong) Its this huge (like 7 metres tall) cross that over looks the city of Chambery from the tallest peak. It was quite cool.
Today I had my first real class of school and it was understandable which is a blessing. The other students were very nice and talked to me quite a bit and made a great effort to be friendly.
I have visited a cheese factory and a real french farm where I collected real French chicken eggs in the past few days! Its been good.
In a way doing an exchange like this is simular to being 4 again I find. Concentrating always on the language is exhausting. After an hour of listening to the french teacher, my eyes start to close and I need a nap time. Its ridiculous, but funny at the same time. I need to eat three times a day with snacks in between and everyone has to use simple words around me and not swear in case I happen to pick it up. I need to be driven around always and today my host dad Bernard, took the bus to school with me to make sure I knew the way. Its too bad he didn't hold my hand too. haha. Its a really funny stage to be at during this exchange, but I'm lucky that I can have the time to nap and snack. So much for growing up and being independant this year.
Tommorow I start long days at school. Staying awake and listening to lectures in French all day. I think I'll need to go to bed at 7:00. I will also need all the bon chance I can get.

Bonnie, I am so glad to see you blogging. Today was the first day I checked your blog and went back and read the whole thing.
I looked it up today because I was thinking of you and your upcoming birthday. I love the photos you are posting, keep up the great blogging and you will have a wonderful travel journal, I will tell Paul to check the web site and mention it to the rotary club if that is okay with you?
I am glad to see you doing so well and smiling so big in every picture! Go eat some cheese for me, we are starting a new run clinic today, I could use the energy.
